I am woman of many quirks. It is just who I am, and thank god for Nelson putting up with all my crazy, because not many would. In honor of this week's
Spin Cycle hosted by the beautiful
Sprite's Keeper, here's a small fraction of my catalogue of quirks
- I have many phobias. I used to have a regular feature on my blog called Phobia Fridays where I'd blog about all the stuff that scared me. My fears include (but are not limited to) sharks, horses, large bodies of water, robots, serial killers, natural disasters, guns, needles, and scorpions.
- I hate wearing socks and almost never wear them, even in the winter. This has been true since I was a small child.
- I used to love horror movies, but ever since my first pregnancy, I can no longer watch them. I can't even watch the trailers for them - I have to change the station on TV if one plays.
- I cheat at cards and board games. I can't help it.
- I am among the less than 1% of the female population that is color blind. That's a GENETIC quirk.
- I always salt my food. Even pizza and salad.

The way you are with horror movies, I am the same way with embarassing moments on sitcoms! Even if I've seen it before and know exactly what will happen, it hurts to watch. Great Spin! You're linked!
I'm with you on the horror movies. And the salt on everything.
And thanks for the awesome, snazzy title that is now stuck in my head. :)
And closets that don't close. I think about that every night when I rock Danny to sleep! ;-)

Huh. I had no idea you were colorblind.
Robots and serial killers, but not zombies?
I think you're destined to get Yo Gabba Gabba songs stuck in my head. Was that "Quirky-Quirk, Quirk, Quirk, Quirk, Quirk" title loosely based on the "Snacky Snack Snack" song?
I'm afraid of most of the same things as you except horses. They're not so bad once you get to know them.
How have I known you for eight years and not known you were colorblind?
Wow, you might be the only colorblind woman I know! My husband is too (colorblind, not a woman), and sometimes I like to mess with him. Like, "hand me my purple book" kind of messing. He calls it "mocking his disability."
OOOO I loves me some salt on pizza...mmmmm!!!!
I can't watch horror films either!
Sharks - Check
Horses - Check
Serial Killers - Double Check (I still can't think about John Wayne Gacy or Jeffrey effin Dahmer without shuddering and they both lived fairly close to where I live!)
Natural Disasters - Check
Scorpions - Check (sometimes before I go to bed, I check under the covers before I get in for scorpions and I live in the Midwest!)
Yep...I could totally steal your post and re-post it as my Spin Cycle but I won't...because I don't CHEAT (at card games and board games and blog games....okay well maybe board games a little;)
These spins are a lot of fun to read. I, too, cannot even watch the trailors for horror movies.
I'm a saltaholic too. Salt on cantelope, spaghetti, whatever!
Really, color blind - that is kind of cool. It makes you special. I bet in kindergarten, the teacher tried to fail you because you kept mixing your red and green up. Great spin!
oooooh. I'm fascinated by the concept of Phobia Fridays. Although I think I wore out the fear topic during a previous spin, but I still like like the idea.
And I'm fascinated by the color-blind thing. We actually thought our older daughter was red-green color blind for a while, turns out that she just doesn't like the color red and refused to identify it for quite a while. Good times!
I love horror movies. They're my favorite. And I'm afraid of deep water. Although that often happens in large bodies of water. You never, ever know what's going to be down there.
Robots, huh? Do you mean like things like the Roomba, or more like the Terminator robot? I'm with Casey, that title is sung to the tune of a Yo Gabba Gabba song isn't it?

You mean it's not normal to have that number of fears? I'm with you on all of them and could probably add a half dozen more to the list! I used to swim at a gym before work (this was before children obviously) and sometimes I would be the only one there. I usually got out after one length because I would be convinced there was something in the pool that might eat me. Rational, huh?
