A pivotal parenting moment

There comes a time in every parent's life when he or she must decide weather or not to put their children in dorky, matching sweaters for professional photos.

For me, tomorrow will be that time.

Who will I be?  The dorky sweater-matching parent, or the free-spirited parent who choses clothing that lets her children's individual personalities shine?

Alright, alright, who am I kidding?  It's dorky sweaters all the way.  Mostly because it is CUTE (even if dorky) but, if I'm being entirely honest, it is a LITTLE BIT for future comedy.

And that's the parent I am, folks.  I am the parent who dresses her kids in dorky matching sweaters because 20 year from now these photos will be comedic gold.

Gold.

I'm already laughing.

I would totally choose comedic gold too!

One of my favorite things about being a parent is the ability to dress my kid up comically before she can protest.

I haven't gone that route simply because I don't have matching clothes to dress them in. I have to settle for coordinating outfits.

You have to go with the dorky stuff. How else can you blackmail them in their teenage years? I think it goes without saying! Good call.

Please say you will post the pics.

I LOVE it! I had never thought of the comedic value in matching outfits, which surprises me because my husband are constantly doing or planning to do things that embarrass our kids. I already have stacks of photos I plan to show my kids' fiances. Oh what fun that will be!

Pictures would be greatly appreciated on this comedy. :-)

X just had school pictures and I was lucky I got him to wear pants. Co-ordinating outfits is beyond the scope of my abilities.

We will definitely be needing photo evidence of this dorkiness.

I'm all for dressing my kid up as ridiculously as possible while I still can. These days are numbered.

Oh yes YOU MUST DO THIS.

It is not even a question.

But think of the dilemma faced by mothers of identical twins! If it were me, I'd have them in matching everything at the slightest opportunity.

Our house is golden on this - my boys LOVE to wear matching outfits. My oldest is always disappointed when I don't have one for their sister as well. I take advantage of it every chance I get and live with the glorious knowledge that not only will I have adorable pictures to embarrass them with, I will have the joy of saying, "Hey - this was YOUR idea!"

Perhaps a little eeevil? I like it. I'm planning on the kiddos wearing matching santa hats for our x-mas card. Just as bad I think. And please, in 10 years they won't let you so take advantage of it now!

If I had two boys, they'd totally be wearing matching Bill Cosby sweaters. Rock on, sister.

I said I would never dress my kids alike. But I can tell you, with this being our first Christmas with two children, you can bet the house, that the two girls will be wearing matching outfits!

I'm thinking first date kinda gold. Embarrassing them is the reason we have kids in the first place. Oh, that, and to make them do the chores we don't want to do ;)
